Our Mission
WealthyGen Foundation is on a mission to empower women and youth with quality financial literacy education, programs, and tools designed to improve their financial well-being and fight poverty. We are operated exclusively for the charitable purpose of helping people address the barriers they face in their socio-economic empowerment and get on the path to achieving economic and financial security.
WealthyGen Foundation believes that financially empowered women have the capacity, confidence, and capital to empower their families, give their children sound education, and break the cycle of poverty. We also target young people who are yet to begin and who have just begun their independent financial lives. Our goal is to catch them young and help them gain practical money skills, develop the confidence to make informed financial decisions and shield themselves from unexpected financial pains which may result from wrong financial decisions.
WealthyGen Foundation was therefore founded around these key purposes:
- Promoting financial literacy among women and youth in the United States and Africa
- Providing financial counseling services to help individuals overcome barriers that keep them from achieving financial stability
- Promoting and supporting education at all levels
- Providing support for the economic empowerment of the underserved and low-income populations
- Developing tools that boost financial independence
Our Vision
Our vision is to help create a world where women and youth are financially literate and included, have the capacity, confidence, and capital to acquire education, establish, and grow sustainable livelihood activities, and build a wealthy generation. This not only helps them achieve financial independence and improve their well-being, but also helps the society achieve sustainable growth and development.
Brief History
WealthyGen Foundation was founded in 2018 to apply our expertise in finance, education, technology, and enterprise development to coach, train, and implement programs that help women and young people acquire practical money skills to make qualified financial decisions and also help to address the barriers they face in their socio-economic empowerment.
Before founding WealthyGen, we started this journey in 2016 as a financial literacy blog by Dr. Charity Ezenwa-Onuaku. As we respond to the need to reach more women and youth with targeted financial education and empowerment programs, we have restructured and registered in the state of Maryland as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are broadening our work to reach even more women and youth globally with our message of financial literacy and empowerment programs, to build their capacity to make sound financial choices and achieve sustainable financial wellbeing.
