WealthyGen is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing financial empowerment solutions for women and youth across the globe.
Brief History
WealthyGen was founded in 2018 to apply our expertise in finance, education, technology, and enterprise development to coach, train, and implement programs that help women and young people acquire practical money skills to make qualified financial decisions; and also help to address the barriers they face in their socio-economic empowerment.
Â
Before founding WealthyGen, we started this journey in 2016 as a financial literacy blog by Dr. Charity Ezenwa-Onuaku. As we respond to the need to reach more women and youth with targeted financial education and empowerment programs, we have restructured and registered in the state of Maryland as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are broadening our work to reach even more women and youth globally with our message of financial literacy and empowerment programs, to build their capacity to make sound financial choices and achieve sustainable financial wellbeing.
WealthyGen is on a mission to empower women and youth with quality financial literacy education, programs, and tools designed to improve their financial wellbeing and fight poverty. We are operated exclusively for the charitable purpose of helping people address the barriers they face in their socio-economic empowerment and get on the path to achieving economic and financial security.
WealthyGen believes that women who are financially empowered have the capacity, the confidence, and the capital to empower their families, give their children sound education, and break the cycle of poverty. We also target young people who are yet to begin and who have just begun their independent financial lives. Our goal is to catch them young and help them gain practical money skills, develop the confidence to make informed financial decisions, and shield themselves from unexpected financial pains, which may result from wrong financial decisions.
WealthyGen was therefore founded around these key purposes:
- Â Promoting financial literacy among women and youth in the United States and Africa
- Â Providing financial counseling services to help individuals overcome barriers that keep them from achieving financial stability
- Â Promoting and supporting education at all levels
- Â Providing support for the economic empowerment of the underserved and low income populations
- Â Developing tools that boost financial independence
Our vision is to help create a world where women and youth are financially literate and included, have the capacity, confidence, and capital to acquire education, establish, and grow sustainable livelihood activities, and build a wealthy generation. This not only helps them achieve financial independence and improve their well-being, but also helps the society achieve sustainable growth and development.
Many women and youth around the world lack financial knowledge and skills, access to financial services and capital necessary to achieve long-term financial success. WealthyGen works with support from, and in partnership with individuals, non-profit, private and public sector to provide coaching and support that enables women and youth gain financial independence.
Our work focuses on financial literacy, education, skills and enterprise development. Around these core areas, we develop programs that address the problems individuals and groups face to bring a lasting solution and empowerment. Through our programs below, we are empowering women and youth, changing lives and lifting them out of poverty.
