Mrs Stella Igwe was struggling to feed her three (3) children after the loss of her husband. Although she is a trained tailor, but, she could not afford to replace her broken sewing machine.
Besides, Mrs. Igwe could not afford to pay rent for a store at an accessible location for her tailoring work.
Without a good working sewing machine and a store, she had no source of income and was struggling to feed her children.
As a result, her her kids dropped out of school. Also, she could neither pay her house rent nor feed her children.
The Empowerment
Through the Women Empowerment Project (WE Project), WealthyGen established a custom tailoring business for Mrs. Igwe, so that she can use her already acquired skill to earn sustainable livelihood and feed her children.
We purchased brand new sewing machine, weaving machine, tailoring materials and supplies. WealthyGen also opened and funded a savings account for Mrs. Igwe.
In addition, we provided financial literacy training to equip her with the knowledge to use financial services, manage her money and grow her business.

Through our women empowerment, Mrs. Igwe now has a sustainable livelihood activity. Through this, she can earn sustainable income, feed her family and send her kids back to school.
