WealthyGen 2023 Empowerment for Widows – We are thrilled to present the WealthyGen 2023 Women Empowerment Project (WE project) for widows in the Mkpok Community of Eket, Akwa Ibom State Nigeria.
Through WealthyGen’s WE Project, we have successfully empowered ten (10) widows in the community to earn a sustainable income. With this incredible support from WealthyGen, we have made their dreams of starting their dream businesses a reality.

Financial Literacy Training and Financial Inclusion
We selected First City Monument Bank as the official bank for this WE Project. So, we implemented the financial literacy training and financial inclusion component of the Project at the Eket branch. On September 29, 2023, we provided these incredible women with financial literacy training to teach them the basics of managing and saving their money. In addition, we trained them on the skills to run and grow their chosen income-generating businesses.
We also opened individual savings accounts for all ten (10) widows. Because they just completed their financial literacy training, they have been equipped with the knowledge and skills to use banking services, manage, and grow their money.
The Full Empowerment
On September 30, 2023, we celebrated the full empowerment of all the ten (10) widows. The community members, led by their community head, Bishop Dr. E. Ette, JP, were present. They witnessed as WealthyGen handed over various items of empowerment to the ten (10) widows. We procured all the necessary items and materials of trade for the women to kick-start their entrepreneurial journey. These range from grocery business to poultry, clothing, and tailoring materials.
Their complete empowerment showcases the transformative impact of WealthyGen’s Women Empowerment Project. By enabling them to pursue their dreams, we are rewriting the narrative of widows in Eket, Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria.
In addition to the income-generating activities and training, we have given them hope of better lives for themselves and their children.
