Financial Literacy, Financial Inclusion and Success Skills Training
On May 5, 2022, WealthyGen kicked off the Women Empowerment Project for widows (WE Project) and led the selected 15 widows through success skills training and financial literacy education to teach them the basics of saving money and growing their chosen income-generating business.
WealthyGen facilitated the account opening process and financial literacy training at Zikora Microfinance Bank, located at Eke Agu, Abatete. We opened an individual savings account for all the fifteen (15) widows, and thanks to the financial literacy training, they now have the knowledge and skills to use banking services, manage and grow their money.
We want every widow we empower to succeed, so we provided training on how they can successfully run their chosen income-generating businesses. From customer management to product replenishment, pricing, and record keeping; WealthyGen trained these women so they can hit the ground running from day 1.
The Full Empowerment
On May 7, 2022, WealthyGen successfully provided full empowerment to the fifteen (15) widows with everything they need to start generating income of their own to support their families. This took place at Agbaja Community Center, Abatete.
We want to extend our gratitude to the Igwe of Abatete, HRM, Igwe Engr. Emeka Efobi and the Onowu Abatete, Ichie Pius Ezeigwe for sanctioning this project for the widows in this community; and to the Chairman of Agbaja Community and his members, Chief Annie Ekunie, and Rev. Fr. Michael Nwobodo for coming out to witness this empowerment event.
